Soon to be Four

January 31, 2012

I was so excited that this family responded to my Maternity Casting call, because I had the pleasure of photographing their little girl when she was born almost two years ago.  Now that little girl a big sister, and I so loved seeing everyone again. Genuine smiles, loving cuddles, and growing families are three things that make me very happy:

I am having so much fun with my maternity casting call sessions… I just love celebrating the anticipation of a precious new life and a family that is ready to grow in numbers and in love.  Thank you to this mamma for a cozy morning in her home~ it was a pleasure and a creative breath of fresh air!  I can’t wait to hear that this little girl has made her arrival.

I’m gearing up for three straight weekends of maternity casting call sessions, and I can hardly wait.  Please be sure to visit again soon, because by the end of the month I’ll have some absolutely glowing expectant mommas to show off to the world.  For now, a little reminder of what each of those women will have to cuddle in, oh, about 11 months or so!

filled with memories

January 4, 2012

I’m so happy that these beautiful little boxes hold a whole session’s worth of memories for families.

One went home to a family just last week and I can’t think of a better Christmas gift!

a photo a day: project 366 in 2012

December 22, 2011

My girls, December 2011.

As a photographer I see such value in a photograph.  I love that I can tell a story, using not a pen and paper, but by picking up my camera.  As a mother, I see the value in memory-keeping as the days and weeks and years with my children slip quickly by.  I love that I can save a memory simply by having my camera ready at a moment’s notice.

And so two years ago, as a photographer and more importantly as a mother, I decided to preserve the story of an entire year of my family’s life.  I launched my first Project 365 on January 1, 2010 with the goal of taking and posting one photo every day for 365 days.    2010 in Photos is so precious to me, and so I’m very excited to begin, after a year’s hiatus, Project 365 in 2012!  For those who have been following along with this year’s Project 52 (a photo theme every week for the whole year), you’ll be able to keep visiting my project blog to continue right along with me.

For those who would like to join me for the first time, visit Heather Grace Photography Project 365 beginning on January 1.  Here’s to a new year!
