A Wedding
November 29, 2010
I’ve been privileged to photograph a handful of weddings over the past couple of years. Although Heather Grace Photography remains dedicated to natural light lifestyle photography for children and families, every now and then I am asked– and agree– to turn into a wedding photographer under special circumstances! I was so happy to turn into a wedding photographer for the sister of an old childhood friend of mine…happy to be an up-close witness to the love and dedication between the bride, groom, their friends and families; happy to celebrate their union; and happy to see first-hand how much they adore each other! Any photographer can appreciate having two subjects that are more than willing to show their connection in front of the camera– whether they’re five years old or have been married for five minutes (as was the case here!)
I hope you enjoy a small peek at their wedding photos, and may you all continue to enjoy the time with family and loved ones that this happy season brings to us!
The Perfect Holiday Gift
November 19, 2010
Well, it’s MY idea of the perfect holiday gift, anyway!
There are many gift ideas swirling around in your head and Black Friday and the inevitable holiday rush are approaching, but there’s nothing quite like a custom portrait session. Whether it’s for a new mother-to-be, newborn baby expected in the new year, a milestone in a child’s life, or a means of capturing a family that’s quickly growing and changing…2011 will be the perfect year to preserve in heirloom portraits. Images that will be treasured long after the cookies are eaten and the Christmas tree is taken down. Treasured for a lifetime!
As I sit down for a quiet moment and contemplate the upcoming celebration of the birth of my Savior, and the full and precious life He’s given me, I am ever thankful that part of that abundant life includes the family– including my husband and (come March) three children– that He’s handpicked just for me. I plan on doing a better job getting a camera to focus on my growing family in the coming year (like, actually asking someone to do a full photo session for ME, perhaps??!) and quite possibly that’s something YOU would like for yourself or someone you love!
Heather Grace Photography gift cards are beautifully packaged and available beginning at a $250 value (good for one custom, full HGP session, prints sold separately).
If you would like to give the gift of one of our exclusive Collections, your loved one will be able to preserve every single image from the session as a complete set of 5×7 desk portraits (Collection 1), in a gorgeous leather keepsake album (Collection 2), or as a complete set of 5x7s and archival digital files on a CD (Collection 3). Collections begin at $1000 and include a generous print credit.
Please refer to this post regarding my availability in early 2011, and feel free to contact me with any questions concerning the Heather Grace Photography experience, gift cards, or our rates. We can design a personalized gift package that is perfectly suited to that special person or family on your list!
Wishing everyone a very happy Thanksgiving and an enjoyable holiday season…I’m thankful for the chance to do what I love and meet so many wonderful families and new friends over the past year!
Six Months Later…
November 17, 2010
I love watching little ones grow up in front of my camera! You may remember being introduced to this little girl when I shot her newborn session in May…six months later she’s a bright-eyed, adorable baby and her parents couldn’t be more in love. We met for a mini session last week and it was a such a great way to end the busy fall season. Just look at this sweet face– she was so great in front of the camera (and her parents are pretty great, too, by the way!) Thanks for spending a lovely morning with me, S family!
Winter Availability
November 4, 2010
Weekends are completely booked through the end of the year! I will be accepting a limited amount of newborn and maternity sessions in December and January. Please drop me a line if you want to chat about a winter session. I also wanted to note that my maternity leave will last from mid-February through the beginning of May, as I get used to being a mother of three! The baby is due March 30th, 2011 and I hope to be able to report his or her arrival even earlier than that!
Here are my girls on a chilly morning of apple picking… wind-blown hair, snotty noses and all! I hope you’ve been enjoying my favorite season and if you have a killer apple recipe, please send it my way…
Beauty In My Own Backyard
November 2, 2010
These cute kids are some friends of ours from church, and I’m so glad they joined me in my backyard last week for some fall portraits. I’ve never done a session in my backyard before, but I have to say I’m impressed with the backdrops right outside my own front door. I’ll have to do this again…
This brother and his two sisters were so sweet with each other the whole time, and such good sports when I suggested they sit in the weeds and throw wet leaves around! S family…the whole Deterding family loved spending the evening with you, and I hope you enjoy this little peek into your session!
