For the Mothers
May 11, 2012
I’ve met many beautiful moms over the past year, and became a mom to a third precious girl myself.
Motherhood is a hard job but a wonderful privilege. It can be exhausting and invigorating; some days full of laughter while others are full of tears; it can come as a long-awaited answer to prayer or as an unexpected blessing. Whatever part of the mothering journey you’re on now, I want to encourage all of us moms with this reminder from Jim Elliot: Wherever you are, be all there. Let’s make the most of every moment!
Here’s to wiping little faces, gifts of sticky kisses, learning to let go a little, and celebrating the little everyday moments that make it all so worth it. Happy Mothers Day to all the moms I’ve had the honor of photographing since May 2011, and to all who stop by to visit this little blog of mine.
Waiting for December~ an engagement session
March 2, 2012
The big day is in December, and these two can hardly wait! In a fun change of pace from my usual clientele, I spent a chilly but bright February evening with Jesse and Stephanie after they asked me to take their engagement photos. Jesse and I have known each other our whole lives, and I am so happy for him and his bride-to-be. Lots of love to both of you!
Three

We have three daughters, the middle one is three years old. This is such a precious age; it will be gone before I know it.
I’m glad there’s another one in line to turn three one day~
Mine
January 14, 2012
I’m gearing up for three straight weekends of maternity casting call sessions, and I can hardly wait. Please be sure to visit again soon, because by the end of the month I’ll have some absolutely glowing expectant mommas to show off to the world. For now, a little reminder of what each of those women will have to cuddle in, oh, about 11 months or so!
a photo a day: project 366 in 2012
December 22, 2011
My girls, December 2011.
As a photographer I see such value in a photograph. I love that I can tell a story, using not a pen and paper, but by picking up my camera. As a mother, I see the value in memory-keeping as the days and weeks and years with my children slip quickly by. I love that I can save a memory simply by having my camera ready at a moment’s notice.
And so two years ago, as a photographer and more importantly as a mother, I decided to preserve the story of an entire year of my family’s life. I launched my first Project 365 on January 1, 2010 with the goal of taking and posting one photo every day for 365 days. 2010 in Photos is so precious to me, and so I’m very excited to begin, after a year’s hiatus, Project 365 in 2012! For those who have been following along with this year’s Project 52 (a photo theme every week for the whole year), you’ll be able to keep visiting my project blog to continue right along with me.
For those who would like to join me for the first time, visit Heather Grace Photography Project 365 beginning on January 1. Here’s to a new year!
