10 on 10: May
May 10, 2013
This month’s post deserves a little more explanation than usual. This day in May was a special one in the life of my family. It began with a trip to the Health Department for certified birth certificates, which are needed for passports, which are needed because my whole brood will be traveling to England this year, which is due to a very special event that we have been anticipating. That event unfolded on this day. My brother, who lives in London, asked his lovely girlfriend to be his bride. And she said yes! We are overjoyed. Since we couldn’t hear the happy news in person, I was eager to document this day with my camera. The news came to us in the middle of play practice, hence the cute little girls in tutus. So without further ado:
Lower level, please.
Unfinished toddler snack.
Stairs.
A call in from London! My Dad answered the phone…
The bride-to-be, and the ring.
Backstage ballerinas.
Twirls.
Grace’s first glimpse of the ring.
My mom and my girls admire it some more.
Relaxing after an exciting day. In princess shoes, of course.

Awww! Your entire post had me smiling! Congratulations to your brother and family! I love that shot of the phone with his bride-to-be showing the ring. She needs a copy of that.
And the dance photos are precious. The close-up of the tutus and hands has such an artsy feel to it. I love all of the emotions you captured, too. Beautiful post!
Heather, how exciting! An engagement and an amazing trip….how totally cool will that be. Hopefully you can stay and take in some sightseeing while you’re there. Love the one of your mom and your girls. For some reason that one really touched me. I don’t have enough of my mom in pictures with my kids. Thanks for sharing the good news!
These are precious! Love the first one in the elevator especially and I have to agree with Kate, the shot of the phone needs to be printed and given as a keepsake! What a great story you’ve told here! Hope you had a great Mother’s Day!!!
What a wonderful moment to capture!! So beautiful!
